The house sits, minutes from The Hoosier National Forest offering hiking / fishing and a peaceful atmosphere, 50 minutes from Holiday World, and 55 minutes from French Lick. (Pet Friendly / Strong WIFI / Charcoal Grill, NO WATER ACCESS) Guests have access to the entire property. There is no access to the Ohio River from this property, only a beautiful view. The river bank is steep making access difficult. The river current is swift being on the outside banks of an oxbow. We do not recommend swimming in the river from our property. There is room to park a boat at the property and guest may use the boat ramp at the entrance to the subdivision. Even though we are located just 20 minutes off the main highway, the river retreat is very peaceful without feeling isolated. We are on a private dead end road that has just 10 other vacation homes. There is no water access from the property but there is a public boat ramp at the top of our road. The closest restaurants are: The Derby Tavern, it is 15 minutes away in Derby Marcy's, it is about 20 minutes away in Leopold. The menu is located in the kitchen for you to check out. In Derby, there is a great little convenience store (Derby Market) that stocks most of your basic food needs and a few extras if needed. Including firewood if needed. The closet grocery store / Walmart is going to be in Tell City or Corydon, both about 40 minutes away. More options can be found in our Guidebook. To get the peaceful views like this you know you must be in a rural area. With rural comes with a bit of a drive to every where you want to go, and spotty cell phone coverage due to the large rolling hills.
