This house is just blocks from campus, grocery stores, bars, and restaurants. Friendly, respectful, and clean housemates, and super fast wifi! For parking I would ask $80/month. This is a moderately finished basement room. It is kind of a fun design with the joists and large old heating pipes painted grey and red. There is even a basement bathroom which would essentially be a private bathroom for this bedroom (full disclosure: it is a rather old basement bathroom, but it is clean and functional). There is a newly remodeled full bathroom on the 1st floor which you are also welcome to use and of course you are welcome to use all the excellent common spaces on the first floor, including the kitchen. The room has a full size bed, office chair, desk, sofa, and 40" smart TV. The space also has a new stainless LG fridge and microwave. The fridge is extremely quiet and has a real freezer. We have blazing fast WiFi so stream away! On the first floor you can use the kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom, and foyer. Free laundry in the basement. There's also a porch and back patio area that you can use. I'm almost always around and if I'm not, there will be someone else in the house who can help you! We are friendly and hope you have an interest in socializing with your housemates and playing a role in house chores. This area of Urbana is about as close as you can get to the university while still enjoying the peace and quiet of the historic neighborhood. We have charming old homes and tall old-growth trees. A few blocks west and you're on campus, a few blocks east and you're in downtown Urbana. What location could possibly be better? There is a bus stop just a block or two away. But you can pretty easily walk to campus or downtown Urbana. If you'd like to head to downtown Champaign for a night (highly recommended unless you think dozens of bars, microbreweries, and restaurants within a 4 block area serving delicious food and hundreds of different beers is a bad thing) you can also catch a bus there. And there's also Uber. This is a shared living space; if you're not equipped to treat it as such, please book a hotel room instead. The house is occupied by a few grad/post-doc age or young working individuals who are generally quiet and easygoing, and we would like to share it with folk who fit comfortably into such a setting. We do not do any in-room cleaning during your stay and you are expected to participate in keeping the common spaces of the house clean as in any long-term housemate living situation. There is no smoking anywhere inside or outside of the property! You should also not go and smoke near one of my neighbor's homes. If you are a smoker, I prefer not to have your booking.
