Many stores and restaurants stay open year-round! We have parades for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Burning Beetle in Custer. Hill City has many fall/winter events. We are about 45 minutes from skiing at Terry Peak. WHAT RESTAURANTS ARE OPEN YEAR-ROUND? Mangiamo’s Pizza, Hill City Cafe, The Alpine Steakhouse, 1885, and Lemongrass are our favorites and are open year-round. Caboose Coffee is also open year-round. IS THERE A PLACE TO RENT BIKES AND UTVS? YES! Bikes: Rabbit Bicycles & Repair and bike rentals down by the Mickelson Trail. For UTV/ATV rental we recommend Hill City Adventures. HOW MANY HIKING/BIKING TRAILS ARE THERE? We have over 70 miles of hiking in and around Hill City. Other than the Mickelson Trail (500 feet from the house) we put our favorite hikes (including Black Elk Peak) in the guidebook. WHAT IS THE FOOD SCENE LIKE? Hill City has great restaurants - 1885, Lemongrass, The Alpine Inn, and Mangiamo’s Pizza are our favorites. The Downtown Deli is great for breakfast. ARE THERE STORES NEARBY TO BUY FOOD?
