Total Privacy: The Studio at Half Moon Retreat
Old Taos charm will be yours with nearby seasonal recreation or year round relaxation in the hot tub and amazing, expansive views. Ski several resorts in the area or in summer, bike or hike the many trails including a visit to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge nearby. Guide books and maps in The Studio can assist you. Need to work while you're away? Many guests have settled in to do what they do, enveloped by the quiet while inspired by the views! ALSO PLEASE READ OUR PRE-BOOKING MESSAGE. Thank you! We are extremely proud of The Studio's 5-star ratings and would love to share our accommodations with you. The Studio is located across the breezeway from our Guest Suite but we only rent one of our spaces at a time for your privacy and exclusive use of the hot tub. (However, if you're a group of 3 or 4, please consider renting both spaces. Message us through Airbnb to inquire.) We have taken pride in the rustic luxury of this larger space, just as we have done with the Guest Suite. The Studio is totally separate from the main house, making it a private get-away. With its separate entrance and en suite bath, we know you will enjoy your beautiful, comfortable and private spot. Constructed of plastered walls, viga ceilings, saltillo and Mexican tiles, you'll experience real Southwestern charm. Decorated with an eye to detail, you will find hand-made furniture, original art work, wool rugs, lots of pillows and cozy flannel sheets during cool weather. You'll enjoy oversized towels and two terry robes for the hot tub. There is a large flat screen TV/Roku. NOTE: The food prep area includes a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and various small appliances (see photos). There is a table for food prep and dining. There is no actual kitchen. Please note: we do not allow animals or extra guests. Thank you for your understanding. There is ample parking in the wide, long driveway. You'll find easy access to The Studio through your separate entrance. You also have full, exclusive access to the hot tub through the gate to the back courtyard right outside your door. We provide self check in with a touch pad for your convenience but we will greet you and get you oriented as needed if we are here. If you need anything when we're not on site, our local helper Teresa will make sure you're well taken care of. In addition, we provide a "welcome guide" with more detailed operating instructions for the hot tub, as an example, along with suggestions for various restaurants, activities and conveniences. Our property is located approximately 3/4 mile off Blueberry Hill down a typical Taos dirt road. It is on an acre parcel that adjoins hundreds and hundreds more acres of Pueblo land to the south. This Pueblo preserve, the Picaris Mountains in the distance and the wide open mesa are your view from the back courtyard and the hot tub. To the north is an adjoining and expansive conservation easement looking towards Taos Mountain. This affords wide unobstructed views in all directions. You will need a car as we are about 10+ minutes drive north of the Taos Plaza. During the winter months when there's snow cover, you really need at least "all-wheel drive" to reach our house which is also helpful in getting to the Taos Ski Valley to the north (approx 20+ minutes). There are many restaurants and a couple groceries between the house and the Plaza. About Taos: https://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/taos-new-mexico-small-town About our neighborhood: We live in a very safe neighborhood and you can comfortably walk on the surrounding roads at any time. The early morning and evenings couldn't be more pleasant with mountain vistas in every direction. We don't allow extra guests. Limit two guests whose names are provided and agreed upon at time of booking. Thanks for your consideration.
