(We don’t want dishwasher running when no one is in the house. Thank you!) 2. Place dirty bath towels in hampers placed in each full bathroom. Leave bedding on beds. 3. Remove any food from refrigerator and pantry. Toss, take home, or donate to a local food pantry. 4. Do a final check through to make sure you’ve collected all personal items and all doors and windows are locked. 5. That’s it! Thank you for staying, drive home safely, and see you again soon! With the exception of the utility room, storage closets, and one small room in the basement, the entire house is open to guests. We are easy to reach via text or phone call if you have any questions or want advice. Quiet rural area, surrounded by forest. Cranes fly overhead to nest in state recreation area across from our property. Free parking on property. Larger trucks and SUVs can park on bottom if needed. No public transit. Takes 10 minutes to drive to city of Baraboo as well as Devils Lake State Park. WOODLAND CREATURES One of the joys of our property is enjoying the various woodland creatures. 1. Cranes: Our property is across from a state nature area with nesting cranes. There's nothing more lovely than watching and hearing the cranes fly overhead as they make their way to their nests. 2. Peepers: Every spring and early summer, enjoy the nightly concert of spring peepers, a small chorus frog who live in a pond on our land. There's nothing like it! 3. Coyotes: At sunset most nights you'll hear the howling of coyotes who roam the bluffs. They don't like humans, so it's unlikely you'll see them. But hearing them adds a special magic to the evening. 4. Deer: Deer criss-cross our land. You may see them as they walk across the driveway or the forest just outside the windows. 5. Snapping Turtles, Eagles, Hawks, Owls: These are seldom seen, but sometimes you'll luck out and see an American Eagle flying overhead or a large snapping turtle (don't touch!) crossing the road near the pond. You'll occasionally hear an owl.
