A private in-law apartment in this lovely country farm-house sitting high above Sheffield, VT. At the center of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, you are conveniently located just a short drive from all of the Kingdom's attractions and amenities. Quiet and private, the site offers a peaceful retreat from a busy lifestyle, yet close access to all of Vermont's recreational activities be they athletic, artistic, or passive. The space is fifteen minutes from Burke Mountain and East Burke Village, the Kingdom Trails, St. Johnsbury and Lyndon. Looking for water? It's a short drive to Lakes Memphremagog, Willoughby, Crystal, and Caspian. Greensboro, home to the famed Circus Smirkus and Hill Farmstead Brewery is only 30 minutes away. The property offers acres of fields, and woods to roam, a pond to enjoy (or swim in if you are so inclined) and spectacular easterly vistas. Gardens to enjoy in the summer. Close access to the VAST trails in the winter. To maximize the guests' experience here, I am available by phone, text, or email to answer any questions or satisfy any concerns. I like to meet with guests upon their arrival to provide access to the space, give a tour, and answer any questions. I do live on the premises but respect my guests' privacy. On Top of the Kingdom sits atop one of the higher elevations of Sheffield with long range local views of hay fields, farm lands and mountain ranges. Set back from a quiet country road, passing vehicles are a rare sight or sound, and the evening sky is awash with starlight, uninterrupted by ambient street lights. Set 2.8 miles uphill on a country road, car travel to and from On Top of the Kingdom is the recommended mode of travel. The back country roads are pleasant for walking and biking for those looking to stay close, and just enjoy the local natural ambiance. I am happy to accommodate earlier check-in times with advance notice. This a rural location so, WiFi is via Starlink Satellite Dish. It is not as robust as Broadband, but fine for email and web browsing and some streaming. There is no stove in the rental, but there is a microwave, a toaster and toaster oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and tea kettle. A gas grill is available for guest use. There is dishware, glassware, silverware and utensils so guests can prepare convenience foods and light snacks. I am happy to wash your dishes. The space is near the home's furnace room. Particularly in the winter months, there is potential for some noise from the furnace running.
