Warm & cozy five bedroom/three bath house on Elk Ave. in the heart of the vibrant CB community. The second floor is dedicated to Airbnb guests. There is one shared bath and a lounge area with a coffee/tea bar and mini fridge for Airbnb use. It is a social house, I have lived in town for almost forty years, and we often invite guests to join in for a social event or a cup of coffee. No breakfast, laundry, or kitchen included. This historic Crested Butte home was once the post office in the mining town of Irwin (7 miles away). Subject to boom and bust, Irwin is said to have held ten thousand people in the 1880's before turning into a ghost town when the mines closed. I believe our house was pulled by a mule team on logs to the town of CB sometime in the 1920's. It has been remodeled many times and is a comfortable basecamp for a CB adventure. Room 3 is the most spacious of our rooms. Enjoy a comfortable queen bed, private sitting area, and a private desk/workstation space. There is also a sofa and coffee table in the common shared living space at the top of the stairs. This listing is for Room 3. If there aren't available dates for this room, check out our other listings for Room 1 and Room 2. Guests can come and go as they please, but try to keep it quiet after 10pm (we will too). Parking can be tricky, especially in winter. The signs need to be read carefully! Park on our side of the street on even dates and the opposite side of the street on odd dates. If you need help, just ask! We are happy to answer any questions about restaurants, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, shopping, etc. We do it all and are happy to help make your experience in CB the best it can be! Crested Butte is a National Historic District. We have world class restaurants, bars that date back to the Wild West, shopping and a great museum- all right down the street! We have many yoga studios, gyms and spas around town and on the mountain. From our location, you are able to easily walk to any business on Elk Ave (main street). The shuttle to the ski area is a short walk down the street- in front of Old Town Hall at Elk Avenue and Second Street. It leaves every fifteen minutes. There are trails to access miles of hiking, biking and Nordic skiing right out the front door. From our location, you are able to easily walk to any business on Elk Ave (main street). Sometimes markets, festivals or art events are held on the street in front of the house- access by vehicle may be temporarily restricted. The kitchen is not included in this listing, but if you have a special request just ask! Please enter the correct amount of guests!
