Your own private island, on picturesque Gull Lake. A quaint cottage to relax and make memories. A private pedestrian bridge connects the island to the shore. Its the perfect place for couples to enjoy some downtime or for families to play. There truly is something for everyone and every age at the Island Haus! Please contact us if you have questions regarding the 30 day minimum stay. Located on the pristine, crystal clear waters of Gull Lake. With over 600 feet of water frontage on your own private island. CHECKING IN: We will contact you before your arrival with check-in instructions and to answer any questions you may have. There are (2) wagons for hauling your belongings. PARKING: Because you are on an island, parking is on the land side. We ask that you be respectful of the neighbor by staying off their property. There is plenty of parking space to accommodate several vehicles and a boat trailer. OUTSIDE: There are 2 paddle boards and 5 kayaks for your use during your stay. A dock that you can tie your boat or jet skis up to. It’s also a lovely place to sit anytime of day. The water around the island starts shallow with a sandy bottom, gradually getting deeper for swimming or floating in a raft. We provide beach towels. When you are done swimming, relax in the hammock with a good book. Or make s’mores around the fire pit. There’s also a picnic table for outdoor dining. A propane grill is provided. PATIOS: We wish the weather was always sunny at the Island Haus, but it’s just not so. For the days you want to be outdoors, but the weather doesn’t cooperate, we have (2) screened in patios. One side has a dining area that accommodates 6 people; the other screened in patio is perfect for lounging. KITCHEN: The kitchen has everything you should need during your stay: pots and pans, dishes (glass and plastic), coffee pot, French press, coffee bean grinder, blender, waffle iron, silverware, cutting boards, knives, grilling utensils, etc… You just bring the groceries! There is a dining area in the kitchen. LIVING ROOM: Plenty of space to gather for your favorite movie or board games. There is a smart t.v (we will gladly remove it before you arrive, if you’d like to disconnect), free wifi (can be turned off, if preferred). There is a fireplace, but we ask that you don’t use it. Please keep the fires outdoors at the fire pit. BATHROOM: One full bathroom with a standup shower, no tub. We provide towels for up to (6) guests. There is a blow dryer and first aid kit under the sink. We ask that you do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Anything other includes, but is not limited to: feminine hygiene products, paper towels, napkins, etc… MAIN BEDROOM: This bedroom is located downstairs. There is a queen size bed and a place to hang clothes. For the hot summer nights, there is a window air conditioner. For cooler nights, there is baseboard heating. UPSTAIRS: You will climb a narrow, spiral staircase to get to the other bedrooms. One room has a full bed, the other has two twin beds. Each room has its own ceiling fan and window air conditioner. For cool nights there is bad board heat. Because heat rises, it’s rare the heat needs to be turned on. ADDITIONAL: We do not have onsite laundry, but for an additional cost laundry service can be provided. We just ask for a 24 hour notice. Housekeeping is not provided during your stay, but if you would like any house keeping services, that can be arranged at the time of booking or with a 24 hour notice during your stay. There will be additional fees for this service. PETS: As much as we love pets, they are not allowed. In the past we have allowed pets with a pet fee, but it did not work out. GUESTS: The Island Haus accommodates 6 guests. If you have more than 6 guests, please consult with us at the time of booking. There is a $25 fee per additional person, per night. We’re also request the names and ages of all guests staying on the Island Haus property. You will have access to the full house. We are always available to answer questions over the phone. If you need assistance with anything we are a quick car ride or boat ride away. Gull Lake is the main attraction while at the Island Haus! (Located in Galesburg) Pure Mex- Taco Tuesday will not disappoint! And there’s always the famous Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo. Many more places not mentioned. Please check websites for menu and hours.
