Welcome to my charming 1910-built home, a calm and comfortable oasis nestled north of Shaw, east of Columbia Heights, and south of Petworth. I've carefully curated this space with beautiful decor, providing a retreat from the city's hustle and bustle while maintaining accessibility. On the top floor there is one bathroom, two big bedrooms upstairs with queen beds, and a office/spare bedroom with a convertible twin sized sofa bed. I’m the garden level area of the house there is another queen bed, sofa, full bath with shower and bathtub. On the main floor there is a fully stocked kitchen (e.g- dishes, appliances, staples), etc.), living room, and dining room. Note: Like any older home, the floors do creak a bit and walls can be thin but it is mostly very quiet and comfortable, especially at night. Please note that when I am not renting out the house on Airbnb, it serves as my personal residence. As such, some areas are strictly off-limits or behind locked doors. Additionally, guests are strictly prohibited from removing anything from the laundry room. I asked that all guests ensure that they carefully peruse the guestbook upon your arrival. I have aimed to address almost every question that guests may have in the book, but I am always available to offer assistance. That being said, I’m only a message away. In case of any queries or concerns, guests are encouraged to contact me. The house is located in the Park View neighborhood of D.C. It truly is that, a neighborhood within a city. You’ll feel like you’re at home here while still able to quickly access all that the city has to offer such as bars, restaurants, and sites. Nearby the house there are few DC favorites, Heat Da Spot Ethiopian-American breakfast and lunch spot, the original Call Your Mother bagel shop, and Saint Vincent’s wine bar which holds jazz nights M-W-Th and in the summer there is live music outside in the back. There is also Sonny’s pizza and Doubles coffee with a secret patio out back and a bar in between, called No-Kisses. Two blocks over you’ll find a slew of bars, restaurants, and a nice shop with a variety of fun food and beverage options called Odd Provisions on 11th street. Four blocks over you have Columbia Heights which has a Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, DSW, and more. More good spots can be found in the guidebook left for guests. You can get nearly anywhere you want, within the District, by foot, a quick bus ride, electric scooter, or the metro which is just up the street. Lyft, Uber, and the other ride shares are also all great options too and are plentiful. - Close to Petworth and Columbia Heights Metro - Buses: 70, 79, H2, H4 There is street parking. Please let me know if you plan to have a car so I can print out a guess pass. Unfortunately, there is no bathroom on the main level and therefore may be an issue for travelers who have limited mobility. House was built in 1910 so the floors can be a bit creaky. It’s not terrible by any means but very light sleepers may find it to be an issue. Parties and large gatherings of more than 8 people (including guests) are strictly prohibited without prior approval from me. While families are welcome, please note that the space may not be suitable for young or lively children. If you are interested in booking the house and have young children, feel free to reach out to me. Free on-street parking is available in the evenings and on weekends. If you will need parking during the weekdays, please notify me ahead of time so I can send you details on how to get a parking pass. It's very simple - you just need to download an app and follow a few steps. The basement and upper floors share the same heating and cooling system. I provide a heater and a fan in the basement. The heater is very effective at warming up the area, and the fan is usually not needed in the summer. However, the wall heater does not work. Last but not least, please note that my cat and I live here when the house is not being rented out, so you may see remnants of us around.
