Second Floor Rental: There are two units within one Lancaster County Farmhouse. Each floor has their own private and separate entrances. Amazing backyard views of the falls, a large second floor deck- perfect for gathering and peaceful moments, original farmhouse charm, and conveniently located next to the Olde Mill House Shoppes, Sight & Sound, Amish friends, Lancaster Central Market, Strasburg Railroad, and more! The second floor apartment features: - Amazing full bath with clawfoot tub/shower -Combo washer/dryer -Two bedrooms with queen beds, queen sleeper sofa in living room -Furnished kitchen perfect for cooking, an ample supply of coffee - featuring whole bean coffee with grinder available and Keurig & K-cups. -Icing on the cake: an even more amazing view of the waterfall from the living room with a massive deck. We find this layout perfect for being together yet separate while traveling with family/friends that you may not have seen in awhile. Enjoy a cocktail and a moment of zen as soon as you step outside! Your private bridge to the park allows you to hike, fish, & walk your dog along the creek. Canoe/kayak, play horseshoes, croquet, cornhole, & more is all available within our yard! Gather by the fire pit! STAIRS: This is a second floor walk up. It may not be appropriate for people with mobility issues. PARKING: Parking area is shared space with the owner and other potential guests renting the first floor apartment. Parking is available for preferably one car, two if needed. If you plan on hosting other folks or having extra cars, please contact us in advance, so that I can guide you appropriately! All cars must enter and exit the property face forward and not block other cars from doing the same at all times. The owner is a volunteer firefighter and must always have quick access to be able to respond. Thank you for your attention to this very important detail. BRINGING A DOG? We love hosting families with pups - Contact us in ADVANCE of booking and tell us about your pup(s). Please verify that the pup is up to date on shots and flea and tick preventative (i.e. BEFORE submitting a reservation request or booking). Also, please verify that you will be proactive to keep your pet as stress free as possible for your pup's safety, the safety of our home and to avoid any behaviors that may impact the other guests staying in the first floor unit. If approved, it may be an additional $15/night per dog - we try not to charge additional fees unless needed. You will have access to the entire second floor apartment along with the outside deck living space that is gated. The backyard is a shared space for all to enjoy. Guests agree to treat the house with a special, gentle respect for the history of the home. Please do not hesitate to message with any questions or requests you have prior to your stay in Lancaster. I will be available throughout your stay depending on my work travel schedule. I live on the property, and I love to meet our guests and can chat about almost anything, but do usually have a pretty packed schedule. It was built by Barbara Diffenbach in 1867. It was used as a wash house in its early days. The house is the perfect location for a get away to Lancaster county. Right near the main highways (Route 30 & 462), it is 5 minutes from Tanger and Rockvale Outlets, Amish Country, Kitchen Kettle Shops, and Dutch Wonderland, Sight & Sound along with numerous fast food and sit down restaurants. Lititz is also close by and worth the twenty minute trip to experience one of the best small towns in America. If all you want to do is have a retreat, less than a minute down the road, only 1/2 mile away, there is a Turkey Hill Gas Station, Walmart, Grocery Outlet, Brewer's Outlet and Vinny's Pizza. Spooky Nook Sports Complex is an easy 15-20 minute drive. The owner is a volunteer Firefighter at Lafayette Fire Company and would love to show off our Orange apparatus and state of the art facility! The Lancaster Train Station is a short 10 minute drive away and can connect you to Philadelphia, PA or New York, NY to expand your travel options. Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) is the closest major airport and is one of the best kept secrets of the area. Uber & Lyft exist in the Lancaster area and are growing in popularity. Public transportation (bus stop) is within a 1/2mile at the Walmart, though we do not recommend this option. You can ride a scooter, bicycle, or rent a car - let me know how I can assist you in your travel arrangements. Though windows have been updated and greatly reduced the sound of the outside traffic, I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, as traffic has picked up since the bridge was widened within the last few years. I have grown accustomed to the noise and don't even notice. Don't plug your ears for the sound of the waterfall, though, it is amazing!
